Los Angeles!! Home to all things Hollywood and entertainment.. Beverly Hills, Universal Studios, Disney! I’ve only ever seen these things in movies and tv.. but finally I get to go here and experience it in person!!!
A full day city tour took us to these tourist spots in LA…
Then it’s dinner and a night of magic at the Magic Castle.. This is one of those hidden spots in LA that a lot of people rave about, but entrance is hard to get as its only for members or by special invite.
Following day was a tour to Universal Studios.. home to famous films and shows like Terminator, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future!
I’ve been to the Universal studios in Singapore and Japan before, but what was unique with the one in Hollywood was the studio tour where I got to see actual sets used in specific movies and tv shows
Another fave was the Special Effects show which explained some of the techniques and tricks they use in visual effects.. this was so cool!!! They even got some people in the audience involved in the demonstrations.
Next day was a childhood dream come true.. Anaheim, Disneyland!!! The place was packed with people, queues were long… but I didn’t care!! I was happy just to walk around and see all the Disney characters I watched and loved growing up.
It’s like stepping into a cartoon with all the vibrant colors of Toontown.
And of course, I can’t leave Disneyland without a picture with Mickey Mouse! 😀
And watching the Disney parade just brought a smile to my face.. all the Disney characters coming out, the singing and dancing and beautiful display of colors.. Definitely lives up to it’s title of the “happiest place on earth”
My last day here I did another studio tour, this time to Warner Bros. studios, where I saw the set from the tv show “Chuck” (unfortunately no pictures allowed for this one), some locations used in the HBO series “True Blood”.. and the best and most well known of all.. the set of Central Perk from the tv show “Friends”!! (this one we were allowed to take pictures of)
And for those that have more time, there are a lot of places here that offer passes to watch show tapings as a live audience member (which I wanted to do but didn’t have the time for).. And if you’re lucky, maybe some Hollywood celeb sightings..
For movie fans and couch potatoes like me, Los Angeles is a fun place to go to for your Hollywood fix.. and appreciated more the work involved in making those films and tv shows we see on the screen..
