Sans Rival is one of the well-known and must try restaurants in Dumaguete. As such I have purposely added it in the itinerary before we head to the airport, we had to eat and buy silvanas to bring home. This store has been baking and delivering delicious goodies since 1977. Original store is still located in San Jose Street, however they have expanded their business with Sans Rival Bistro located corner of San Jose street and Rizal Avenue.
Hungry we are, we had our lunch here and just relaxed a bit because the scorching heat of the sun has drained us as we walked around town. We still have time before our flight. For our drinks, brewed coffee (PHP30) and pineapple juice (PHP20). The food were just so-so while the prices are rather cheap compared to the prices in Metro Manila.
Ham and Cheese Sandwich – PHP40 ( was not able to take picture of this)
Other pastries in the shop:
Yes, I was able to take home boxes of Silvanas (PHP125 / box of 10). It was frozen, and can last upto 6 hours outside the freezer if one desires to bring it home. Indeed, they are yummy Silvanas! In addition to the silvanas, I also brought home some bar cookies – Choco Revel Bars (PHP18) and Cheese Brownies (PHP12).
