I first learned about Kanto Freestyle Breakfast which serves affordable gourmet breakfast in the blog post of Mike Laagan and was intrigued of the food. However, studying the map in its Mandaluyong branch was quite a disappointment for someone whose mode of transportation is via commuting (mrt, bus, jeep) and not fond of riding tricycles in Metro Manila. So the said plan to try the restaurant was put on the side for the meantime.
Then, before 2013 year ends, Pinas Muna posted that the Kapitolyo branch is now open. There is hope now! Having Kapitolyo as one of my food destinations in 2013 (had 3 series of Kapitolyo Food trip), it would be easier to reach.
So for the first Saturday of 2014, it was on top of my list. I will be writing my back to back Saturday experiences in Kanto Freestyle Breakfast in a different post.
Commuting instructions (via EDSA):
– Ride MRT upto Shaw Boulevard Station
– Along Shaw Boulevard, go to EDSA Central Mall which is opposite side of Shangri-la Plaza Mall (you will see Chowking, National Bookstore), ride a jeepney Pasig bound and ask the driver to drop you off at Kapitolyo. It is already Kapitolyo when you reach a roundabout island / rotonda and see Ynares on your left, while on your right there is Petron, Bank of Philippine Islands and Mercury Drugstore.
– Walk the street behind Petron (San Rafael Street) then left on the first street you see (1st Street) and you will see Kanto Freestyle Breakfast (it’s an eatery in a house garage)
